SATA RAID drives show degraded

I have a SATA RAID that was created on an NVIDIA chipset M/B. When I move the SATA RAID (mirror) to a AMD based chipset M/B the RAID shows as degraded. When I move it back to the NVidia chipset M/B it works just fine. This happens on both the AMD 780 and 790 chipset M/B's. I have not re-created the RAID yet on the AMD chipset M/B. I'm sure that this will resolve the problem but I shouldn't have to do this. Anyone have a reason why this is happening?
