When turning on my laptop, the screen is perfectly fine. It runs the memory check and all that information shows up PERFECTLY fine on the screen. But after thats done, and it goes to the Windows Loading screen, it goes black, but not completely. I can still see it loading but just barely, and it does get to the login screen and i can actually get onto the operating system. But the screen is still dark as can be, with just a faint view of things. I've checked the LCD settings and everything in setup mode and everything is fine, i havent slightest idea what could be wrong.

How old is the laptop? Sounds like the backlight is going bad.

its a couple years old at least, maybe 3. The backlight has nothing to do with the setup screens or anything like that when the laptop is turning on?

No, if the computer boots and logs into windows fine but the screen is very dim and even black then it's the backlight or backlight inverter.
