  1. I recently posted a cry of help on this very forum "Help required - Malware removal"

However I see that I have been following advice from a member who has subsequently been banned. This has left me a little worried as the advice was fairly intrusive, and involved quite a lot of downloading and running EXEs etc.

As I newcomer I cannot include the URL for the original thread in the post, but the topic number is 118513.

I there another member (ideally a long standing one) who could have a quick review of of the thread and let me know if I should be concerned, or if the advice was sound.

    Thanks.

    Hi

the member was a long standing contributor to the site and was an expert on virus removal, his subsequent banning from the site was due to internal politics and not because of any dodgy advice.

All the advice posted on the virus removal section is good and reliable and should be followed, oh and yes as you can see im a long standing member of the board.

    regards
