Segate ST3160812AS Wont boot on its own

I have installed a new hard drive on to my computer. It's an SATA drive and yes it shows up in the bios, and when I am installing windows. However it wont boot after I've installed windows. The only way it works is if I have an IDE drive installed. Thats unacceptable. The seagate website is useless. I installed the motherboard drivers and it still wont boot with the ide drive. I am at my wits end and am ready to throw the drive out the window. Pls help.

Thanks

Lol, sorry to hear about your problems. Make sure that your SATA is in your boot sequence (in bios). This way it detects your sata drive as a bootable device. If you already have it set up this way, check for any BIOS Updates from the MOBO manufacturer. Make sure to backup your bios before you flash your bios though.

It works

This is going to sound strange. I tried it again and it frigging works. I didn't do anything different. Thanks for the help.
