Hi all, recently i have been wondering if it was possible to view/send files on our other pc's through our network. We're all connected to a d-link g604t modem/router via an ethernet connection.

Would it be possible to connect to each other's pc's or does the router just give us each an internet connection?

Any help/advice appreciated :) thanks.

Also if you need any more information don't hesitate to ask ;)

it is possible, provided that there is a share on each system and everyone is on the same workgroup.

If you mean connect as in be able to work on other peoples computers, then you'd need remote desktop enabled on all the systems.

techniques include:
  1. email the file
  2. ftp to an ftp server
  3. copy to a USB thumb drive and move it to the target system
  4. use print/file sharing
when all systems are on the same router, the last one is the most effective.

it would be handy having printer/file sharing because i have no printer at the mo :D i'm running vista ultimate and the other 2 pc's are on xp home sp2, so would it still be possible to set up file sharing, and how would i go about it?
