In XP, the SendTo menu copies the file to the destination instead of moving it. For instance, if I right-click a file and click SendTo > My Documents it will copy the file to My Documents and leave the original where it is. This didn't happen in Win98. Is there a fix?

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

This is normal for XP. If you wish to move a file, the easiest way is to just drag and drop the file to wherever you want.

Thanks HH...

...but as someone who dislikes having to browse through layers of folders just to move a file from A to B, I would prefer to use SendTo since it can (or is supposed to) do the same thing in just a few quick clicks. This is something I used a lot on my Win98 PC. Don't know why programmers fix what ain't broke when they update software. This is why I'm always so hesitant to upgrade an OS or a software package - they always remove or change something that I liked in the previous version.
