Sharing Internet connection

So, I bought my PC over to a freinds, but silly me forgot my Wifi USB thing. So we are trying to get my WIndows Vista Machine to use the Internet from his windows 7 Machine (he has a Wifi card) using an ethernet cable. We tried a network bridge and Sharing his connetion. It conencts I can get on the internet. But the connection is only 3 meg at best (he has a 10 meg,) and a ping test (http://www.pingtest.net/result/11949661.png) shows really bad on both PCs.

What should we do?

that setup isn't going to be lightning fast. you didn't go into detail about how you have it configured but 97% of the time its all or nothing as far as getting out to the web through a shared internet connection.
