Sims 2 Directx 9.0c problem, please help?

  1. So up until a few days ago, my computer and the Sims was working just fine, but now when i try and start the Sims 2 Nightlife it says "Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics addapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate."
I'm really not sure what to do. If someone could please please message me or answer to this thread and i can send you some information about my computer, or tell me what i need to post so that you can help me, i just don't want to post something about my computer that could lead to me being hacked or something because I'm not so sure what to post.
Please get back to me ASAP, that would be great.
    Thanks so much!
    Kelly

Could you post your system spec please, we could do with knowing what system you are running.

Use this to find your system spec.
    Belarc Advisor - http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
Or if it is a Retail Comp could you tell us which like for example Dell.

So since you installed the Expansion Pack it hasn't been working?
There is a increase in the Spec Requirement between the Original and that Expansion Pack.
The most likely cause is you haven't got a supported Graphics card.
