Im trying to play on win Vista and every time it says that windows has reported an error and closes the game down, it also says that its trying to modify something on the hard drive... my windows 7 didnt do this?

It has been doing it since the recent patch.

Check your anti virus/internet security program control settings. You might find that your recent patch for SIMS3 has changed the program sufficently to flag it up as a BLOCK rather than an ALLOW and hence it will not run. Have a look and get back to us.
