  1. Hi there was wondering if anybody could tell me whether it would be better to but two sperate 512mb ram sticks and run them in dual channel mode or buy a single 1gb stick?
    thanks

Performance wise, it would be better to run 2 sticks of 512mb assuming your motherboard (or CPU depending on your system specs) supports dual channel ram configs.

Dual channel would be best, definetly go 2 X 512.

    Performance will increase in multitasking.

You can rest assured that memory running in dual channal is always faster.

Yes it will be faster when it comes to running apps like video editors.

And if you have an Intel Pentium 4 CPU, dual channel RAM is really recommended. If you have an Athlon 64, is not that important, but can be useful for video editing.

but, if you ever decide to upgrade to 2gig, then you will have to buy all new stuff......

    just a thought
