Google has introduced six Gmail Labs features to the mainstream product, a couple of which we mentioned in a tech tip last year. Among the add-ons graduating are Search Autocomplete, Go To Label, Forgotten Attachment Detector, YouTube Previews, Custom Label Colors, and Vacation Dates.

Most of those are self-explanatory, but Go To Label and Vacation Dates might be less evident. Go To Label can be used in combination with keyboard shortcuts ("g" and then "l") to place the "label:" operator in the search box. Vacation Dates lets you specify which dates you'll be away in advance, so you won't forget to turn on the vacation responder after you set sail.

In addition to promoting some Labs features, Google will axe several others. Over the next few days five Labs items will stop working and disappear, including Muzzle, Fixed Width Font, Email Addict, Location in Signature, and Random Signature.

Geez, if only google would figure out how to give users the option to UNCONVERSATION THREAD MESSAGES. In some situations this is absolutely fatal to usability. They are losing users because of this. They should wake up and listen to the incalculable number of customers who have pleaded for this.

Stop torturing your gmail users and fix this problem!

The threaded conversations are gmail, if you want more traditional email use Outlook/Thunderbird/Opera and your ISP provided email account, or use Yahoo. Thats just how it is, and how it always has been, so it isn't a "problem that needs to be fixed". I doubt google has any intentions of changing that.
