Slow start up

Whenever I attempt to start up my computer I get a black screen for about 2 minutes.
I think it occurs after I type in my log info because I can move my cursor around but it takes a while to load the files on my desktop.
Any help is appreciated!

This maybe because you have many things loading on start up click on start then type in msconfig left click on where it says msconfig once it appears when box comes up clcik on start up then look in thats list for things like your firewall weather its norton or ? also things that pop up on your desk top that you dont need .. DO NOT untick any boxes that you are not sure about if you need further help plewase reply and some one with more experience can help
