Hi, I've been wondering, Do I need to download any software firewall in my PC? If yes, can anyone tell any good and free software firewall downloads? thanks! :D

My router has a firewall which should protect my PC's so I just run the standard Windows FW (which is pretty basic). If you want something extra, Online Armor is supposed to be good:

Zone Alarm free is another popular one.

Comodo and Sunbelt are two very good choices

Any that really are worth keeping do not. Comodo & Sunbelt have light weight processing while some of the B I G boys, eg Norton are really poor imo.

Question for the OP - What OS are you running? (xp, vista, win7) and what version (32bit, 64bit, home, pro, ultimate, etc)
The answer could affect some recommendations.

Running XP (32bit) I prefer Online Armor.
I have tried and also like Comodo, just like OA better.
I do not recommend ZA, though I used to,
and some I know run it still - based on my earlier recommendation.
I find ZA to be too much of a hog.

I've noticed that Sunbelt won't allow me to update Malwarebyte's unless I i disable the firewall. Other than that, Sunbelt is pretty ok.

that's a configuration issue - - I can update anything and use SPF on my laptop.
make sure you allow PORTS 80,443 TCP IN/OUT SRC=ANY

    hi.

Hold on, how do I enable those? :D
