Sony showed off a couple of new new Vaio products at Computex 2013. Known as the Vaio Pro and Vaio Duo, these two models bring in some crossover from other Sony departments. From the company's TV unit, Triluminous color rendering and X-Reality display engine technologies were added to the displays, while the webcams are said to use the Exmore R CMOS sensor, which was first developed for Sony's digital cameras.

Both of Sony's new Vaio laptops offers Haswell processors, ranging all the way to up to the Core i7.

The Vaio Pro will be available in both 11- and 13- inch variants with a Carbon Black or Carbon Silver finish. The 11-inch only weighs 1.92 pounds, while the larger 13-inch model is still very light at 2.34 pounds and offers a high-speed PCIe SSD drive, which Sony calls the first of its kind. There is also an optional battery that can be connected to double the life of either laptop up to 14 and 13 hours, respectively.

Other features include 1080p IPS displays, NFC, a backlit keyboard and integrated graphics.

Shipping on on June 9, the 11 inch model is expected to sell for $1149, while the 13 inch will go for $1249.

The Vaio Duo 13 is also slated to ship on June 9 in Carbon Black and Carbon White variants. Starting at $1399, this update to last year's Duo 11 features an improved hybrid design, with a sliding mechanism to hide or reveal its full-sized keyboard, transform it into an oversized 13-inch tablet or a regulat laptop. Buyers will get a 4th generation Intel Core i5 processor, Windows 8 and a 128GB SSD.
