Sony crx220e1 burner recognized only as cd-rom!!!

    HELP!!!

    Need burner, but it won't burn, I have updated firmware, and still will not burn, Windows I dentifies it as a CD-ROM and it is suppose to be a lite-on sony cd-rw. I am confused, am I suppose to install software for it, I thought XP could burn, as a matter of fact I know it can I have done it, why is my PC not recognizing the cd-rw? It reads fine. and I use the sony test program and it even burns fine, but when i try to use it, it simply does not work excpet as a cd-rom.

    any replies, will be helpful.
