    Well here is why I came too this site. I own the unit in the title. After a recent move, and puting on Microsoft VISTA the player will not work. It reads DVDs sometimes, but will not read CDs of any sort. (Including Software CDs.)

    It is not a cable issue. It is either the board or the unit itself. Any ideas out there, or somebody that experienced something similar to this problem?!?!?!?!

    See if you can boot off your Vista cd, or any other bootable cd. The more intense the bootable cd the better.
    Example:
    memtest bootable disk, bad
    live linux cd, very good

    That will tell you if its a Vista issue or the drive itself.
