Hi all,

I Am having problems playing COD:Modern Warfare, so the advice is to update your video and sound card drivers.

Upon updating my sound card drivers: Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Music, with the latest driver, I left the game in the DVD/CD drive, after restarting, this now no longer works. It does not open, or make any indication that it is working, completely unresponsive.

Any help as too how I could get this drive back working would be very much appreciated!

See below for the Sound Card/File involved.

Sorry its broken up, its my first post...

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi series Driver 2.18.0008 (on the above page)

Thanks!

This might help.

Go into the Sound control panel, reduce the sampling rate on your sound card to 24bit/48000Hz and try it again.

1. Try the Sys Restore Tmagic suggest first.. you can then also

2. Check for device problems
=> Click Start->Run, enter: msinfo32
=> Click the + sign next to Components to expand it
=> Click Problem Devices. Anything appear?
=> If yes, click on it, then Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy Paste into next post

3. Open Device Manager, is the drive still listed here?
Find your CD drive device, uninstall it. Reboot and let Windows reinstall

4. For that matter you also find the sound card and try uninstalling its drivers (these won't automatically reload on reboot)

5. Do you still see the drive in Explorer?
