Sound comes through headphones & speakers - why?

    When I plug my headphones into my front jack, HP m1180n desktop, they work fine however sound keep playing in my speakers as well.

    How do I prevent sound from coming through both headphones and speakers at same time?

    You will have to reconfigure your motherboards sound configuration. The Audio header has to be configured for HD (Hi-Definition)... You may have to contact HP tech support to do this
