Ive been using the same sound card for years now and a few years ago I had to get some new speakers, Logitech Z-5300... So fast forward to my latest build, an NForce 680i sli mother board. Im trying to calibrate my speakers using the creative labs calibration tool. When I start the tool I can detect all the speakers properly but when I get to the next step, and everyother one for that matter, I can only detect the front channel.

What Im wondering is if the on board sound from the mother board is better than my out dated sound card....any imput would be appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

Dave, you would be surprized at how far on-board sound has come in quality... Ditch the sound card and go with the on-board

I trashed my old Creative xFI Gamer because of crashes in Vista... I was very surprized when I first used the on-board sound. It was 100 times better than the sound card. Creative has always had driver issues over the years...
