I'm having some trouble with sound on my Dell Studio 15 laptop.

Every so often (not all the time but enough to be very irritating), my sound will jutter horribly for 5 seconds or so. Most noticably happens on iTunes but also happens to VLC Media Player when I'm watching something.

I have lots of free disk space, computer isn't exactly being used to death.. help!

2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU
    4GB Ram

Could checking out the sound driver/reinstalling it be of any assistance?

    Thanks

Next time, please use Google to find your answer, by using the simple word search: " Dell Studio 15 Sound Drivers "

You failed to mention your OS as well.

I'm not sure which OS you have, but I'll list everything there:

Windows XP: Click here to download IDT Audio Driver.

Windows Vista 32: Click here for SoundBlaster X-FI MB driver or Click here for IDT Audio driver

Windows Vista 64: Click here for SoundBlaster X-FI MB driver or Click here for IDT Audio driver

Windows 7 64: Click here for IDT Audio driver.

Second of all, it sound like you don't have enough resources to use any apps such as Media Player. Use the task manager to close everything and try running on WMP again to see if it changes anything.

    Thanks for stopping by! :)
