Sound Problems

Hi!
I was away this past week and I came home and turn on my computer and tried to play music in both iTunes and Windows Media Player (the new one, Beta I think its called). I went into my Control Panel, then to Sounds and Audio Devices. It says there are no Audio Devices loaded. Also, when I use AOL Instant Messenger instead of the normal tone used for recieving an Instant Message I get this beep from the computer itself like when an error message comes up. Could you please tell me what I can do to fix it. It's driving me nuts. Thank you!

Is your soundcard built into your motherboard, or is it a separate soundcard?

If it`s onboard sound then see below.

If your computer is an oem build such as Dell/Gateway/Compaq etc. You can get the sound drivers from your computer manufacturers.

If it`s a custom built computer, you will be able to get the sound drivers from your mobo(motherboard) manufacturers website.

If it`s a separate soundcard, you will need to go to your soundcard manufacturers website.

Regards Howard :)

Please tell us the sound card manufacturer and model, and we'll find the drivers for you.
