Speakers echo??

I have a problem with my speakers echoing. I thought it might have happened when my son installed a Sim City game so I uninstalled it. Unfortunately I still have the echoing almost like a surround sound but I only have 2 speakers. I've been through the Windows XP help menu with no success. If anyone could help me I'd be very thankful. Sean

reinstall your sound card

What Soundcard is installed, it's possible that a Reverb preset might have been loaded for it.
