    On another note, GTA3 : Vice City has been confirmed for PC. It should come out some time during Fall 2003.:dead:

    Tryed the demo yet Arris ? I could download it at work but I'm running on a P200mmx. I don't think I have the minimum specs to open the read-me.:D

    Good news is that I managed to meet the spec for opening the readme :rolleyes: :D

    Bad news
    Guess I'll give it a try when I get back to Scotland tomorrow and I can run it on my home PC.

    Well going from Dell Geforce2Go 29.63 drivers to 29.64 didn't help :(

    Sweet, that doesn't look to bad, I will have to give that demo a try.
    I just hope my getting old system can handle it.

    Reinstalled it and it ran (well kinda crawled as if it had just had its legs blown off by an anti personnel mine). Looks nice even at 640x480 min details... Guess people will not have a chance running this on GF2MX

    UT2003 demo was 97.72MB...and I have 28k ;)

    I just uninstalled the demo and reinstalled it. No other change.
    I did notice that if you run the game, quit to menu, run the game, quit to menu it gets slower and slower (poor memory management?), well on my laptop anyway :(

    Thanks Arris, Blueyonder link worked fine. Files Just over 100 meg, so gonna leave pc on to dl this on my 56k tonight :D

    Downloaded, but cant play?

    Hi again. I downloaded this Demo last night, and i havent been able to play it yet, due to some annoying errors that I keep getting just after the initial splash-screen. Sometimes I get:

    error no.1:
    [IMG]

    sometimes...

    error no.2:
    [IMG]

    both result in an error in the kernal:
    [IMG]


    Ive tried different screen resolutions, ensured that im in Truecolor (32bit), also installed latest DirectX 8.1b driver, but no success, same error?

    Any suggestions :confused:

    Heheehee, only just noticed looking back over this post that you all seem to have had similair errors. Tried un-install then re-install as suggested but to no avail. Same error:dead:

    Try editing the SplinterCellUser.ini & SplinterCellSettings.ini ,which are in the SYSTEM folder.
    At the "Resolution=640x480" line, change it to 800x600. (think I put mine at 1024x768 but cant remember as it was a few weeks ago now)
    Had same trouble with demo and found fix on net.
