SSD PCIe 4.0 support on motherboard with 3.0 only

Hi all! I want to upgrade my system to new SSD with PCI-e 4.0 support (for next system), but now I want to use it on my old system with Z270 motherboard. I choose Netac 7000 https://ssdrive.net/netac-nv7000-4-tb but not sure, is it will work on older system?

I can't speak to that specific board, but I ran my 4.0 drive in a 3.0 motherboard for a bit and had zero issues. They are generally backwards compatible.
