Standard VGA graphics adapter help needed

    I updated from windows vista home premium 64 bit to windows home premium 7 64bit and now i have standard vga graphics adapter.My model is a Sony PCG-8112L.

    You didn't state the problem very clearly but if I guess, I'd say you neglected to install the graphics driver. If so, I'd guess that you may have forgotten to install the chipset, sound and LAN drivers too.

    When i reinstalled it, it didnt give me an option to download new drivers or anything

    also make sure you download and install the video drivers from sony's site. those sony's are the worst at coming bundled with a different peice of software to run each component in the computer. once the correct driver is install it should specificall show the name of the video card and not the generic.are you sure you did an upgrade and not a fresh install?

    When you install Windows, those drivers I mentioned are installed separately. Windows does not hold your hand, so to speak, so you have to do it on your own.
