Starfield will be locked at 30 fps on consoles; PC requirements revealed

I may not be popular for saying this, but I think if a game played at 30FPS but showed a counter claiming it was running at 60FPS, I doubt most people could tell the difference. I mean, film runs at 24FPS and I don't hear anyone complain about how jerky film is. That said, the steep requirements do suggest to me that the game may be rather poorly optimized.

The recommendations for AMD are nonsense. On the minimum specs, the RX 5700 XT is a lot faster than a GTX 1070 Ti (about 25% faster according to reviews), and on the recommended specs the RX 6800 XT is a lot faster still than the RTX 2080 (about 50% faster according to reviews). You can safely disregard those.
yeah, I had this impression as well. Could be the game will favor nvidia more and you'll be having an ever harder time with AMD GPUs. We'll see in September for sure. Not looking good either way to me, but I will buy it if it has Fallout 4 vibes.

Ugh, internet connectivity required?!?! Why?!?! At least with other non-MMORPG - you can still play if your Internet is out. *sigh. At the very least, it should be optional - but not a requirement - unless there's a reason why you have to be online to play this "single" player game.
Not a problem if played on game pass. It has to be installed and started once, but then it can be added to your available offline list.

Unless it's an MMO type, but why would you not want to be online for that?

Ugh - don't get me started on GamePass (no 3rd party mods allowed). I get the benefits and had it for 3 years, but not worth it for me.

I have no issue with Internet being required to get patches and updates, but when Internet connectivity is not the best - then that absolutely limits the playing options. Look at Diablo4 - and their single player option still requires connectivity - so that's a hard pass for me.

All I want is there to be an offline option - so until more details emerge about the "requirements" on this particular item - I'll just wait. At least it saves me the money of a pre-order (which I stopped anyway after CP2077).
