Startup problem

when starting xphome I recieve a message(new hardware installed)I have not installed any hardware so don't wish to continue and cancel the window.Is this some spyware or virus?I wish to get rid of it but cannot find any reference to installing hardware in my startup list.Maybe someone can help an old 70yr old.yours sincerely ian

Hi Ian

Sometimes MS Security updates can allow new hardware to be found (especially in Service Pack updates)
So it may in fact be trully new hardware found.

Normally your best option is to go to your manufactures support web site and download all the updated drivers.

You should also check that you haven't mistakingly plugged something in (Camera?)

One last idea, is to run Startup Control Panel and turn off any not required Startups
