    Ouch -- shark tank. It is easier than ever to write and sell your applications, but it is also more competitive than ever. I am not sure if the $1 - $499 bar includes people who lose money. I actually know someone who lose money because the app revenue doesn't cover the annual AppStore membership fees. It's a good thing his livelihood doesn't depend on it.
