I hope this is in the right forum. I have been suffering from stuttering audio, from both audio on my pc and streaming from the net. I did all the usual tricks, checked for viruses/spyware, reinstalled drivers etc and I've (unintentionally) narrowed it down to hardware. I've done this by accidentally leaning on the casing, to the right hand side of the mouse pad. This actually allows the audio to continue playing without stutter and if the pressure is lifted the stutter returns immediately.
What I want to ask is whether it is easy enough to get into the machine itself, having looked around someone had done it previously. Secondly, what am I likely to find that is causing this problem?
