Suddenly won't read flash drive??

When I turned on my laptop XP Pro at work this AM,
it went right to some kind of windows security update.

Don't know if it came from Windows or the IT dept.

Now, my flash drives won't read. It says they're
not formatted and do I want to format.

Tried them on my home PC XP Pro and they still work fine.

There must be some kind of reset or something I can do?
