Svchost.exe - application error

Receiving the following error message on windows xp start-up:

svchost.exe - application error . The instruction at "0x7c917c00" referenced memory at "0x74f85924". The required data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of "0xc000009c".

Has anyone seen this specific problem , please help.
I've ran spybot with no problems found.
