System Alert Message

A system alert message is continually appearing on my icon tray telling me I have a serious infection when I know I don't. When I double click on it it sends me to AntiVermin and wants me to purchase it. I already have a Virus Program: AVG that I've been running effectively and like clockwork. I also use Spyware Doctor and Ad-Aware constantly and the message still remains. Have any solutions? It would be much appreciated.

AntiVirmin is definitely a Trojan. DO NOT download AntiVirmin. Go to this site for guidance on how to remove it:

Sorry to say, but I've done all the removal processes and the icon tray still remains! I've even tried manually removing them, but it still remains. It took me a while too. Any other suggestions?

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

I have moved your thread to the correct forum.

Your system is infected with malware.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, AVG Antispyware and Combofix logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Also, let me know the results of the AVG Antirootkit scan.
