First, we here at TechSpot strongly recommend all XP users to update to SP 3. Microsoft no longer supports SP2 and from a security point it is essential.

Second, both errors are 0xD1 which are usually caused by faulty drivers. In both files they cite the driver iaStor.sys as the cause of your issues.

This iastor.sys driver is the Intel matrix storage manager driver file; once windows loads it's always running anyways if you have a HDD controller that needs it.

It is a necessary file as it blocks windows from starting up when damaged

It is used to control the SATA disks, usually for raid systems but still used in normal single disk setups as well. It should NOT be removed.

* Update your chipset drivers from your PC build manufacture. Make sure you get your model correct.
