System keeps freezing

  1. HI there people

    This is my first post..so hello.....& thanks n advance.

    Now im not very pc minded ..although not totally imempt

    My system keeps on freezing ( mins after boot-up ) even in safe mode
    i have scanned 4 virus's - nothing
    tested the ram - nothing
    checked the temp - nothing
    done a system restore - nothing , told me nothing had changed so couldnt xecute)
    ( this is all advice i have found from googling
    when it freezes if just goes "beeeeeeeeeeep" and all the system freezes
    cant even get task manager to pop up
    The system is about 4 years old and i bought from my previous work
    its ran like a dream .....and now its driving us all mad.
    any help appreciated.....i know u like to know what sysyem ive got so i copies this down

    Have you checked the hard drive to determine whether it's still any good? If its four years old, I would recommend upgrading to SATA (assuming it's still using IDE).
