"Tagging" a user name?

    I just posted a reply where I used @username in the post. I received an error message something like "You don't have permission to tag a user name"

    I had to remove the "@" to post the reply (but then I could edit the reply to put the @ back in)

    What's up?

    Evidently this has happened to others using other @words. I'm sure it will be fixed in due time.

    We did some "upgrades" recently and it's added more bugs than fixes evidently. We will look into this shortly.

    adonisfigueroa appears to be working ok. I also modified what appears to be a new setting to limit the amount of tagged people on a single message.

    Neat - - can you explain how these tags get used beyond the obvious reference to the specific user?

    It's a bit Twitter-like, jobeard.
    If you tag a user, the username gets linked automatically and the user in question receives an alert, as an open invitation to join the conversation or at least check what's going on.
