PROVIDENCE —Curt Schilling’s embattled video game company 38 Studios has reportedly handed out pink slips to all of its nearly 400 workers in Rhode Island and Maryland.

A memo sent to all 38 Studios employees today said the company “is experiencing an economic downturn.”
“To avoid further losses and possibility of retrenchment, the company has decided that a companywide layoff is absolutely necessary,” a copy of the memo reads.

Really sad to hear this. After playing KoA: Reckoning I had high hopes for future games from 38.
