If Morris is perceived as beautiful then you can't call the Hitler mobile an ugly duckling.

But Hondas are driven by people who have already done everything exciting in life ...... and now only living it 'as is' !

I don't think you are in this category captain ;)

Well, I actually do drive a Honda, albeit a Honda Motorcycle. Trust me, all the excitement isn't over for me. People texting, talking on their cell phones, and being just plain incompetent behind the wheel, always add to the thrill. There's never, ever a dull moment. Besides, when you get my age, the air blast in the face keeps you awake. It's like sticking your head out the window, but permanently. Rumble strips, who needs 'em?

Couldn't disagree with that, I'd prefer motorcycle over car any day of the year (except for when it is raining :( ) ..... but you know what, the most annoying thing about (some) bikers which I've noticed is ..... while on the bike they can't resist sticking their f****** cell phone in their ears, and try to ride with one hand. In fact I know someone who fractured their skull doing something like that 5 months ago, lucky for him that he survived.

I was wondering which will be most beautiful car ever made ........ hmmmm ..... Fulvia ? Montecarlo? Stratos? 458? F40? F1? 8C beautiful but loudly useless :) ...... I guess we can have a little poll about it. Just for the fun of it nothing more :D

I recently discovered the Lexus LFA. That thing is a sexy and performance powerhouse. First Lexus that's caught my attention in a LONG time

LFA isn't a bad car at all, that includes looks wise. However, LFA was the name of one allowance I used to get in my salary (i.e. LFA = Leave Fair Assistance) ........... anyway, if my memory serves me right Lexus wasn't going to make any money on this car, and at 340,000 (P) it is one hell of an expensive alternative to more accepted super car brands like Ferrari / Lamborghini / McLaren-Merc etc. I think right now, you'd probably be better off buying Ferrari 458 Italia, as it probably delivers best bang for your money and it is the best looking Ferrari in a long time; and it costs whole lost less. So in a nutshell, you aren't making much of an statement if you buy an overpriced Lexus.

I probably have a much different view, but mine is...

It looks nice in a mean sort of a way, I don't know why but I always think this car was made for people like D*** Cheney (and who likes to shoot their friends) ;).

Anyway, its weird that someone from UK would like a muscle car, because there is a good chance you're going to hit a tree or run over some pr*******e whenever you try to make a turn.

1967 Shelby GT 500 Mustang ...Ooooh so so sweet.

Whoops didn't see Leeky there..never mind eh.

From an "item" I found on my desk.....
In conjunction with celebrations for the centenary of Alfa Romeo, Alfa fans from around the world have selected their favourite models from the past 100 years. Votes were collated on a website specifically set up for the purpose.
Although Alfa Romeo has to date created more than 70 models, it all came down to a battle between just two iconic Alfas in a poll of fans favourites, with the Alfa Giulia GTAm topping the poll, beating the 8C Competizione supercar to the chequered flag with less than 1 per cent of the vote.
The Alfa Giulia GTAm which gained 20.4 per cent of the overall tally, derived from the standard 1750 GT Veloce production model, and secured it's place in the Alfa Romeo elite by winning the 1970 European Touring Car Championship in the hands of Dutchman Toine Hezemans. The votes for this poll were collected from admirers and owners who submitted photos of their Alfas to alfacentenary.co.uk website.
The GTAm and current Alfa supercar, the 8C Competizione, led the way against a shortlist of classics including the 2900 B Le Mans, Alfasud and the 156 GTA

Us UK lot are generally well versed with RWD and corners... Its probably something to do with having roundabouts every 2 metres in town centres, and lots of twisty winding roads here. lol.

I'd have a proper muscle car like that, or a Hemi, or some other over a Euro/Jap car anyday. Its a real mans car, and nothing comes close to the orgasmic noise of a V8, or a 'charged V8 at full tilt. :)

One day I'll own one...

Until then, I'll get to drool at (or should that be over!) my mum's boyfriends brand new V8 Ford Mustang. Grr!!!

Alfa Romeo's are something I've owned. :) Awesome cars, but not the most reliable, and rather expensive to maintain, even for a qualified mechanic like myself. lol.

I should also add that it doesnt need to be lightning fast, just sound so mint it'll make the hairs on the back of my neck stand to attention. :D

Well that's because Alpha probably make a car to work the way it should for 'a brief time'; but everyone I know who have owned one say it is worth it just for that; I am sure you'd rather have 166 rather than Corolla any day of the year (not to mention 166 looks much better any way ;) )

By the way have you seen that new Bugatti Veyron (1200 bhp, top speed 267.7 mph), it doesn't make much sound .......... what good a super car is, if it doesn't excite you with its engine noise ?

Edit:
By the way the best description of an exhaust's noise award goes to Lamborghini for LP-670-SV:

This exhaust that ranges from heavy rumble of stormy night, through the trumpeting of mighty elephants, to the roar of a raging lion.

Now you may get excited just by reading it :p

@Archean,

:D

Without a doubt, Alfa's are oustanding - I've never owned a car with as much character as that had. It was expensive, but it was worth every single penny, even if I did complain at the time. :haha:

I quite like the Aston Martin V12 engine note as well, It sounds very V8, but with the add bonus of rattly type, burbling, whaling noise I cannot begin to describe... It sounds nice full chat!

But for me it has to be a fuel injected V8's rumble, with the backround soundtrack of mechanical 'charger whine. Win win for me. :)

If you listen carefully the supercharger screaming "mercy-mercy" is the very first and very last thing you can audibly hear (after the rumbling and burbling exhaust note dissipates) due to the fact that high pitched noises travel faster than that of the low-down exhaust growls
Mercedes @ Goodwood festival of Speed 2009

NB: sounds better online, I downloaded it but only managed to grab "ogg 96kbps stereo"

I could barely hear it personally, but got some rather strange looks from the wife with it at near full volume! :D

I love the mechanical whine of a supercharger. If I could afford it, I'd have one on every car I own just to hear it everytime I boot it! :haha:

How about an supercharged V8 powering your PC ? However, downside will be, you may reboot randomly just to hear it 'revving up' again and gain and ........ you get the idea

If only the Coolermaster V8 cooler could satisfy my needs! :haha:

Time to see if I can make the boot up noises play a V8 engine being started and revved......

Downside of it can be, if the computer is stationed near bedroom, you may get kicked as far away as garage ....... still it could be worse ;)

It could be, some radiators and it would actually be rather peaceful! :D

Kevin Mcloud I think said in one of TG's episode that a V8 powered internet connection will deliver 'everything a man can ever dream of' ....... now that isn't a bad idea either (provided it could be made to work somehow) especially if you have couple of radiators sitting next to your PC table :D

Although, he declared himself an 'ecomentalist' just in case you may want to know.
