Inactive Think I got the Goobzo virus

Hello there,

I know a lot about tech and I am very disappointed in myself that I just got myself a virus. Anyways, this is happening on my Dual Booted Macbook Pro using bootcamp since I'm waiting for my 4690k to arrive for my main computer.

Anyways, I've done some research and think it is the Goobzo virus since I also remember seeing something like that in Malware Anti-Bytes. I am unable to connect to the internet using Microsoft Edge and apps that rely on the internet for say, In-App Purchases won't work.

I can use other things like Chrome and Firefox, but it seems the default internet protocol Microsoft has built in with the OS isn't working. Was wondering if someone could help me.

Thanks!

Hi there,

I would like to apologize for the inconvenience but I have actually just solved the problem. While waiting for a response on this article, I decided to run a program I found while looking through the forums (Can't remember the name) and ran it in safe mode. I then rebooted and it still didn't work, so while running FRST64, I got a notification from Windows Defender telling me that something called "Patched.AZ.gen!dll" was found.

I selected "clean" as that is what it recommended, rebooted and now I can use Internet Explorer just fine.

I'm sorry if I wasted some of your time.
