    Im a proud :) HP 6730B owner (with password problem) ,To cut a long story short ONLY way out is by replacing the motherboard.I've talk the HP and got a quote,

    You have to nominate a time and place (yours or his),
    Tech. person will come (within 48Hrs.) with a new part and replace ur board , COST = $ 492.80

    There is NO WAY out..Because it is a user fault,NOT covered by warranty...

    ??? Didnt know,iwas only allowed to ask questions.I tought comment like that would help a few .Then again,it wasnt intendent for your eyes only.
