I wasn't really sure where to post this, but how do you people get so good at removing malware and viruses or fixing BSOD and all the other issues people have? Is it something you just pick up along the way, a background in programming, or what?

I've learned it myself while building PCs, from 8088 & MS-DOS 3.3 to the current ones. After a while you (or at least I) notice what applications should be running and what shouldn't.
