Hi!

So this is my 1st post here sorry if it is a "omg help me!1!!" one but I found this forum to be in fact very helpful to new users .

AMD XP 3000+
ASUS A7N8X-E DELUXE (latest bios)
2x512MB CORSAIR PLATINIUM TWINX (mem86 tested 9 passes)
2xWD 120GB + 40GB Maxtor (All IDE)
EVGA GeForce 6800gs (latest driver)
Reltek Ethernet Card
Cheap Power Supply (could this be the problem?)

My computer ran fine with this psu for months though...
Problems started happening after I formated my two 120gb and installed Windows Vista RTM MSDN on the 1st one (screwed around with it a little everything was fine, could play games and I got no blue screen at all) then I installed XP PRO (Service pack2 everything up to date) on the 2nd HD and thats when blue screen started.

I got random reboot even if nothing is running on the computer, games are extremly choppy or just plain crash to desktop or give me a blue screen (sometime even little flash internet games), photoshop, dreamweaver and fireworks run fine.

I should also mention that I recently replaced the thermal thingie on the cpu (not sure what is the english word) and when I removed the cpu cooler it screwed a pin on the cpu and I had to replace it (cpu is running between 55-58 celcius and mobo 35-38). Oh and now when I boot into Vista I got tons of random error like application not responding and blue screen could it be some kind of conflict between the two OS ?

Faulry ram

Hi,

One minidump is crashed with 7 memory corruption and I believe the culprit is faulty ram. Probably the memory slot is bad. Reseat the memory to another memory slot. If it still crashes, run memtest to stress test the ram.
