Toshiba Satellite m40 battery problem

Hi all got above named computer and it had a faulty battery as it was not holding charge when unplugged it switched off. so bought the battery for it brand new by part number etc . put on charged to full and fine but then unplugged and after while it makes beeping noise beep beep etc does anyone know why its beeping thanks in advance

You might try updating the bios...

Also, in addition to making sure your BIOS is up-to-date I would recommend making sure that the battery is seated correctly in the housing, sometimes a loose battery can cause it to short out and cause problems for the laptop/computer.
