Trade 8800GTS for 9600GT

I have a 8800GTS (320 MB) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130082) and its 3 months old. I am pretty happy with the card but EVGA has a Step-Up program and I will have to spend $20 to get a 9600GT (1GB) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130345. I am really confused if there is any performance gain over 8800GTS or not. In advance, thanks for your help.


p.s. I am not really concerned about moneys.

To be honest here,

Its a step up only if it was a 8600 Series

The 8800GTS will be faster than the 9600GT. If you want to step up, step up to a 9800 Model because its more comparable.

Just take a look at benchmarks incase i'm wrong =D

The new 8800GTS's are faster than the 9600GTs, but the 9600GTs are faster than the OLD 8800GTSs like your 320 (like mine too). If you have $20 to spend, then I'd do it because the 9600 uses less power and takes up less space. But I wouldn't sweat it too much if you don't have that 20. Your 320 8800GTS is pretty powerful still.
