Transfering hard drive from old PC

  1. I want to transfer my old HD from old pc to my new pc but abit of confused with which cable should connect. My old HD has XP installed on it and new HD got 7 on it, will it work will I be able to run XP with old HD ?

    I successed to install old HD to my new PC but how can I enter windows XP which is installed on my old HD ?

    You will most likely not be able to use the windows XP without getting a BSOD, because the hardware is probably very different between the two computers. If you need windows XP, you will have to reinstall it on the second drive. Then when you boot up you will get a prompt to choose which operating system you want to load.

    I reinstalled windows xp on old drive but now its not even asking me to choose OS just staring xp.

    Repair 7. They use different bootloaders, and XP's won't load 7s. I don't know that 7 will notice XP is there, so incase it doesn't you may have to use something like BCDEdit inside of 7 to get it to work.
