The last problem I saw with the blank background after this thing was cleared by manually uninstalling combofix. Navigate to and delete the folder if there
C:\Combofix or C:\program files\combofix

Also try searching the computer for combofix Start- Search or in vista use search bar under start

Combofix was uninstalled by OT so it's not there. When I Start-search (Combofix, I get combofix.exe but I can't open because it says that it's removed.

try reinstalling it and then

• Click START then RUN
• Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK
• 
• When shown the disclaimer, Select "2"

I downloaded it and then typed Combofix /u it ran combofix and nothing happend.
