Trouble booting from XP install cd

Hi all.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

So I'm having trouble getting a new hard drive to boot in my bosses computer. The hard drive will boot in the other dell I'm using to set it all up and copy over stuff so I'm sure its a problem in the boot.INI or something. Regaurdless, I was going to run a repair using a windows install cd. But it won't boot. It says boot drive unavailavble. But my UBCD will boot and a few other boot disks I have made. But none of the 10 XP cd's i have will boot. I even tried putting in a fresh formated HDD. The computer refuses to boot from the XP cds. But any other boot cd I have boots fine.

Any ideas?

You may need to get the RAID Drivers from the Motherboard Manufacturer, bang 'em on a Floppy {remember those?} and press F6 when Windows prompts for "3rd Party Drivers" near the begiining. It'll continue loading, then ask you to press "S" to specify what drivers.

It'll then install the drivers, XP will see the HDD & bobs your uncle.

The other way - if you don't have a floppy Drive, is to slipstream them in using N Lite.

Good Luck.
