Trouble opening Yahoo messenger

    Hey,
    Each time i try to open yahoo messenger my whole system gets stuck. I tried re installing messenger several times, and each time ,during the process i get this message
    cLayoutEngine_Tooltip: YMSGER_~1.EXE application error
    Instruction at 0X254955c7 memory cannot be "read".

    What does this mean? And what should i do?

    Are you trying to install the "Yahoo Messenger beta 9"- this error has been reported with that version.

    Get rid of beta 9 and go back to v8.1 v9 has to many bugs in it and a lot of people are having problems with it. You will need to uninstall it before you can install 8.1 though.
