This has just been something I have been doing for about 10 years now. I cannot believe it has been so long. No formal training, just mainly watching others and learning :).

When was the last time you defragmented your PC.

Download and Run ATF Cleaner
Download ATF (Atribune Temp File) Cleaner© by Atribune to your desktop.

Double-click ATF Cleaner.exe to open it.

Under Main choose:
Windows Temp
Current User Temp
All Users Temp
Cookies
Temporary Internet Files
Prefetch
Java Cache

*The other boxes are optional*
Then click the Empty Selected button.

Firefox:
Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click NO at the prompt.

Opera:
Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click NO at the prompt.

Can we Fix this problem? ther is a smal change in the error it gave me, the 1st one was
c:\...\locals~1\Temp\wer424b.dir00\appcompat.txt
and the new one
c:\...\locals~1\Temp\werd1e5.dir00\appcompat.txt
wat is the difference?
i am a cad designer and cnc programmer, this pc is what i use to work for my bread and butter... if it hangs, takes to long, i will get in deep trouble, possibly lose my job. if i stand the workers under me stand and so the chain goes...im the most technical person here@work.so i have no other help...

Generic Host Process For Win32 Services:
Error Signature:
svchost.exe
Acgeneral.dll

same as before!

With the previous question i asked if you could help me, my pc at home is also running bit defender. I scanned my pc, it picked up a trojan. i then removed/deleted it, the next day ran the scan again and it picked up the same trojan...how is that possible if i deleted it?

Please advise a sollution...

Thank You!

I am not certain this is still malware related, but I will get you to run another scan anyway.

Please download Rootkit Revealer
Unzip it to your desktop.
Open the RootkitRevealer folder and double-click RootkitRevealer.exe
Click the Scan button (bottom right)
It may take a while to scan (don't do anything while it's running)
When it's done, go to File > Save. Choose to save the log to your desktop.
Open rootkitrevealer.txt
on your desktop and copy the entire contents and paste them here
Please don't surf or do anything else during the scan with RootkitRevealer, or it may interfere with the results and show legitimate entries.

ok...thanks, will run scan when i leave work tonight, will send outcome tomorrow then.Have a good one!

Until then...

thats all i got...when i got back at work this morning that is all that was on the rootkit screan,
i did however get that same error window(generic system32 error, that svchost.exe and the AcGeneral)
My antivirus was also still scanning on its schedualer, starts at 00h00-was still scanning for(7.5hrs)last scan ran 13.5hrs for only say 70Gb HDD storage...
what do we do now??

i did as you asked, had evry application closed, started the rootkitrevealer just before i finished at work to scan...so it had no interference, my bit defender starts at 00h00, would 6,75hrs be enough for the rootkit to scan???
i do remember seeing in the bottom left corner of the rootkit window something about "cleaning..." but it didnt look like it was doing anything, i left it for a while and then decided to save what it got on the screan and sent it to you...

I dont have the strength or time to format again... but my system is very unstable... and i dont know what to do...my work is seriously starting to fall behind...

Are we talking of only one PC here, or more than one?

Can you delete the version of Combofix you have on the pc at the moment and then download the latest version.

Please download ComboFix by sUBs from HERE or HERE
  • Save it to your Desktop
  • Physically disconnect from the internet.
  • Now STOP all your monitoring programs (Antivirus/Antispyware, Guards and Shields)
  • Click on your START button and choose Run. Then copy/paste the entire content of the following quotebox (Including the "" marks and the Symbols) into the run box.

    "%userprofile%\desktop\ComboFix.exe" /KillAll

    thRunBox_KillAll.jpg

  • Click OK and this will start ComboFix.
  • When finished, it will produce a log. Please save that log to a Notepad File and include it in your next reply.
Note:
Do not mouse-click combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

* Re-enable all the programs that were disabled prior to the running of ComboFix.

* Post the following logs/Reports:
  • ComboFix.txt
CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

only one pc...the one at work,i dont know of any combofix...what is it??not something that i have installed!Knowingly... i had to format and reinstall xp, i only installed acrobat9, my printer, microsoft office2007, my cad programme , nero7, Altech(what i use to go on the net).
Looks like the system is running ok, havent had that svchost.exe errors and system lag's. ive got no antivirus or spyware protecting the system. cant afford to lose another day or two trying to fix the pc...my machines is standing and we are loosing production, i got in big trouble, machines are standing since last week thursday costing us precious time for machining!
Im sure if i install the antivirus programes all my troubles will come back and eat my pc AGAIN!!!

so for now im going to have to run without them for a couple of days to catch up on lost production...however im going to have to install them and am sure im going to need your help...just for the record, i have formated this pc 5times in 1month,3times in the last 1.5weeks. i did create restore points as i installed new programes but when i wanted to do a system restore the last time they were all gone...
That is why i had to format...sorting out this problem takes time by the look of things and i only have one pc to work with and cant afford downtime.
Where are you from?just want to know what timezone you in, so that we communicate at real time if neccesary....
anyway, thanks for all your effort in trying to help me...
Keep Well,
I'll contact you soon!(say 1-2weeks)
Do you have any other advice?
