Trouble with playing FFXI with GEForce 6600

I got myself a new graphic card yesterday. (GeForce 6600) and now the graphic on FF is lagging like ****. have anyone had the same prob. and do anyone know how to fix it with a patch or something.
the problem looks like it only is in some of the zones.... (I was down to 1.3 FPS)

did you uninstall the existing drivers?

Uninstall all video drivers, reboot, and install the latest NVidia ones.

That should so it.
