There are people don't know what the '.1' is for, or ask why you need speakers aside from the built in ones for your laptop/monitor, or just use headphones/earphones for everything. I for one would rather have two excellent shelf speakers with enough power and range (not hard to find), than a half baked 5.1 system (as most computer speaker systems are), and consider adding a sub if I needed more bass.

That's all I use. I don't want the surround sound due to the wires and I don't notice a huge difference anyway.
